A Discovery Flight at Dynasty Aviation is a hands-on introduction to flying, designed to show you exactly what pilot training is like before you commit.
You’ll meet one-on-one with a certified flight instructor at North Perry Airport (KHWO) for a brief overview of the aircraft and flight plan. Once airborne, you’ll take the controls of a modern, all-glass training aircraft, practicing basic maneuvers while experiencing real-world Fort Lauderdale and Miami airspace.
During the flight, you’ll learn how training works, how students progress, and what it takes to earn a pilot certificate. After landing, your instructor will walk through next steps, timelines, and training options based on your goals.

Yes. After takeoff and once safely established in the practice area, you will take the controls under the direct supervision of your instructor. You will learn basic aircraft control, straight and level flight, gentle turns, and how the aircraft responds to your inputs.
Most Discovery Flights are conducted in Dynasty Aviation’s modern Sling 2 or RV-12 iS aircraft. These airplanes feature full glass cockpits, advanced avionics, and excellent visibility.
